Prescription types

Simple, controlled compounded and special control prescriptions — when to use each one and what each type requires.

When you tap New prescription and choose the patient, you select the prescription type. The type is set at this initial step and the creation screen already shows the correct template. Later, while the prescription is not signed, you can switch the type when editing: via the selector in the sub-header (on desktop) or, on mobile, in the prescription's bottom panel. For controlled types, the app validates the required data and lets you fill in anything missing on the spot.

Simple prescription

The everyday template, for medications without special control. No extra requirements beyond your CRMV.

Controlled compounded prescription (3 copies)

For compounded medications subject to control. The system shows the 3-copy template with 30-day validity and gets a sequential number in the format MAPA number + sequential + year (e.g. SP-1234/0001/26).

Requires:

  • Your MAPA registration number (SIPEAGRO) — register it in Settings → Profile, in the "MAPA registration number" field. It is the veterinarian's registration number in the MAPA system; obtain it on MAPA's veterinarian registration page.
  • The guardian's address — if missing, the app asks you to fill it in before moving on.

Special control prescription (2 copies)

For medications subject to special control (Brazilian Ordinance SVS/MS No. 344/98 — e.g. lists C1 and C5). The system generates the white template in 2 copies (1st copy — pharmacy retention; 2nd copy — patient guidance), with 30-day validity, and gets its own sequential number in the format sequential + year (e.g. 0001/26, without the MAPA prefix).

Requires:

  • The guardian's CPF — if missing, the app asks you to fill it in before moving on.

Electronic issuance integrated with ANVISA's SNCR is not available yet; the signed prescription is valid in printed-and-signed form.

Numbering: how it works

Numbering applies to the controlled compounded and special control types (simple prescriptions are not numbered). Each type has its own sequence, per veterinarian, and resets each year.

  • When you sign digitally, the number is assigned automatically and stored in the signed PDF.
  • To print and sign by hand (or sign by other means), use the Generate number button on the finished prescription: the app allocates the sequence number and it appears on the document, even without a digital signature.

Continue from numbering you already used

If you already issued prescriptions elsewhere and want to continue from a specific number, enter the next number in Settings → Profile, under Prescription numbering (one field for magistral and one for special control). The app carries on from there and auto-increments, without repeating or skipping numbers. On the prescription, the gear icon next to the number (or next to the "Generate number" button) jumps straight to that setting.

Find a prescription by its number

In the Prescriptions list, the number shows as a tag on each issued prescription, and the Search field finds a prescription by its number (full or partial — e.g. 0042 or 0042/26), in addition to patient and text.

Next step: signing

Any type can be digitally signed with an ICP-Brasil certificate (Pro plan) — see the digital signature article.
